Rally Estonia is committed to conducting its activities in an environmentally friendly manner. To reduce the environmental footprint, it is most important to reduce the environmental impact of events. Rally Estonia has established an environmental policy, as well as set a strategy.
The decisions to reduce impacts during the conduct of events are adopted through environmental impact assessments. We are taking measures to reduce air, water and soil pollution; manage and reduce electricity and fuel consumption by promoting efficient use of resources. We minimize risks to protected areas and protected species and preserve biodiversity.
The most important task is to reduce and offset greenhouse gas emissions. Our ultimate goal is to achieve zero carbon emissions. Another important task is to reduce the amount of waste and make the most of recycling opportunities. We promote waste minimization/recovery.
It is very important for us that all competitors, spectators, officials and employees would understand their responsibilities to minimize potential environmental risks and impacts.
The environmental management system of Rally Estonia is implemented in all areas that are under the direct control of Rally Estonia during events. The management board and the top organizers of the event assume responsibility for the environmental issues arising from the event and all activities will be carried out in accordance with the legislation and relevant requirements related to environmental protection and management, including the ones of local governments.
