Raul Jeets and Andrus Toom are in the middle of their second season in FIA ERC series. The next round, auto24 Rally Estonia held on 15-17th of July in Tartu, Elva and on the roads of South-Estonia is for sure the most important for them. Last year was their result in auto24 Rally Estonia sixth. This season’s best result comes from Acropolis where they finished fourth overall. Their goal for the home event is to do the best result of the FIA ERC series this year. But reaching to the podium which is located in their hometown Tartu it’s not easy but still realistic plan.
„This is for us the most important start of the year. Friends, families, supporters and fans, they all are on the stages cheering for us. Plus the fast roads with numerous jumps. This is an incredible feeling! Competition will be tough but we’re ready for it. The fourth place from Acropolis and pace we showed in Azores have added a lot of confidence to us. And those stages were new for us but with stages of our home rally are we more familiar. Skoda Fabia R5 is a good car and we are ready to give maximum attack at home,“ said Jeets.
Jeets and Toom are using Skoda Fabia R5 from the Latvian team SRT and auto24 Rally Estonia is their fourth FIA ERC round of the season. Before the rally they have planned testing in South-Estonia and the best way to do this is auto24 Rally Estonia Warm-Up, held on 10th of July. The Warm-Up event consists of 3 different Special Stages, all of them will be run 3 times with total 61 stage kilometers.
„This mini-rally is a very good solution for testing and training before the event. Similar conditions, real competition and also we can have some hints about the pace of others,“ said Jeets.
In addition to being a part of ERC in 2016, auto24 Rally Estonia is also a round of FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship.
