Miko Niinemäe is aiming to prove his skill and speed against the regular FIA European Junior Rally Championship contenders, when he contests next week’s auto24 Rally Estonia in his Peugeot 208 R2.
Having won his class on two of the first three rounds of the Estonian rally championship, the 22-year old driver leads the junior class in his national series. Co-driven by Martin Valter, Niinemäe has contested Rally Estonia twice before, and is aiming for an ERC Junior podium finish.
“Rally Estonia is a good opportunity for me to compare myself with the ERC Junior drivers, in what I think is the most interesting junior championship in the world at the moment,” said Niinemäe. “I’ve got experience from the event from 2011 and 2013, but actually I do not remember the stages well anymore. The most important aim for Rally Estonia is to have a clean rally and not go over the limits, but I hope to contend for a podium spot.”
