Jan Kopecký set the fastest time in Qualifying for the Barum Czech Rally Zlín.
Co-driven by Pavel Dresler, the ŠKODA Motorsport Fabia R5 driver stopped the clocks with a 2m51.7s over the 4.71 kilometre Pohořelice stage – and will be the first to select his starting position during the road selection process later today.
Alexey Lukyanuk was second fastest in his Ford Fiesta R5, a mere 0.1 seconds behind. Last year’s winner Václav Pech was third in a Mini John Cooper Works S2000, while ERC leader Kajetan Kajetanowicz was fourth in his LOTOS Rally Team Ford Fiesta R5. Robert Consani was fifth in his Citroën DS3 R5, while Craig Breen completed the top six in his Peugeot Rally Academy 208 T16.
The ceremonial start takes in Zlín’s city square at 17h00, before the traditional opening stage of the event – three laps of the Zlín city superspecial stage and around the Bata shoe factory starting at 21h15, with cars running in reserve order.
